Confirmation Policy

Confirmation Policy

Anyone who has been baptised and is over the age of 10 is eligible for confirmation by the Bishop. Firstly you must attend a short series of confirmation classes which provides clarification in the Christian faith, bible study and an introduction to the Church of England.

The Riverside Parishes run a course of confirmation classes on Sunday evenings during September and October, in preparation for confirmations in November. Separate classes are run for adults and children, however both are informal and lively and take place in the Vicarage. Please contact the Ministry Team office for the start date of the next course.

During 2007 we prepared 12 candidates for confirmation, 6 adults and 6 children. Everyone from the parish who is confirmed gets a Bible or prayer book as a gift from us, as well as warm encouragement to become a regular attendee at church.
